Bugle Calls

ISPA/Legio VI Cornu and Tuba Calls
(as used at AD43)

These have been kept very simple, the basic idea being most folks can churn out three pitches (low/med/high) with a little practice, and it will not require a virtuoso!.. Calls work equally well with a Deepeeka Cornu and Tuba, but the Tuba is easier for beginners to learn on, as well as much easier to deal with in the field.  Cornu pics come from parade images, so I think the tuba may have been a more practical useful instrument in the field.

The Tuba reqires a trumpet or french horn mouthpiece.  I use a 13A4A slightly bored out, but a simple 5c or 7c trumpet will work fine.  The Cornu requires a slightly large tuba or baritone, or even trombone mouthpiece and requires far more air than the tuba to properly sound, so if you are a beginner, start with a tuba!

I see this list growing over time, I have kept it very simple.
