Just what is BRUTALLY AUTHENTIC? Our new Brutally Authentic line is for the Re-enactor looking to step up to the next level. These items are hand
made by other re-enactors and have reached as close to authentic as possible. Often they are so real, that using them
may be a bit brutal... just like it would have been in those days. BRUTALLY AUTHENTIC. Re-enacting... to a new level!
SWCOVERSB Hand Sewn Scutum Cover
BRUTALLY AUTHENTIC Sewn by our own Leg VI Member Stacey B, these scutum covers are double stitched
to prevent run or fraying. All stitching is done by hand. Natural holes and creases are repaired and also double
stitched (see the pics to see both a crease and hole "divot" repair). Leather is 2-3 ounce cowhide. The leather
ties at each corner attach the cover to the scutum. Also has two "on duty" tie strips to store the cover nicely tied
if not on the march. The basic design is from Jared Fleury (www.Florentius.com).
We can custom make the main image using red wool backing and leather to your specs. Extensive designs could
run more than the base price, depending on design. Made solid to last a lifetime. Oiled with neatsfoot before
shippiing to insure a suppleness you will love. It does not get more authentic than this (ask any Legio VI member, Stacey
is our Stitch Counter!!) These are special ordered, and we cannot guarantee dates. Plan to allow 3-4 weeks for
manufacture and sewing, but ic could go longer. Email us for more details and specific pricing. once we settle

SWPILARW Leg V Pila Kits
These brutally Authentic pila are handcrafted by Robert Wear
of Legio V. Pila are handforged steel. The total pilum heads in these pics range from 21” to 24” long. The
shafts start at the bottom as 3/8 inches square and end about 1/4” round just below the head. The heads are 3/8”
wide and taper to nothing. Heads are 2 inches long. Kit comes with butspike. Tangs average about 1-1/4 inch wide and 5 inches
long. The steel is not quenched or hardened in anyway. This way they can handle a few more bends before they get work hardened
enough to break. Truly Excellent bit of kit that stand up to repeated throwings. They have a brutally less refined
look than the Deepeeka Pila. Kit for one includes iron shank, shaft, collet, nails, and buttspike. Does not include
wooden shaft.

Hand made Roman net bag to complete your furca. We take a cotton/linen bag, tea dye it, and encase it in
a sisal rope netting for support. Roughly 10 *18. Leather draw string. These are hand made.

SW094-95CS Hand Sewn Tunic
The Soul of the Warrior hand sewn tunic is a new addition to our
BRUTALLY AUTHENTIC line
of merchandise. Made of a incredibly tight woven wool fabric, and sewn either completely by hand
or exposed stitching only will be an excellent addition to those who desire hyper authentic kit.
The Completely by Hand models have no machine stitching at all! Exposed Strching models have some machine sewn stitches
on areas that are not visible (IE Inner seams). Both are extremely well made. The fabric does not fray and is
simply some of the best wool we have seen! It is not felted and is genuinly madder died! There is a very tight
pattern to it, that does not show up in the photos. We use a slightly off color on the thread to make the stitches show
up better, or we can do then in the thread color of your choice. Size can be tailored to your measurements or preferences.
Also available with and without sleeves. Overall width can be as much as sixty inches. You will not be disappointed!
Other colors will be available soon. For now we have only the madder red. These are made as ordered,
by re-enactors, for re-enactors. Please allow 3-4 weeks for delivery.

Hand made Paenanular fibulae. Perfect for the heavy wool overgarments of the Romans, or convert your blanket
into a makeshift cloak. These are handmade and every one is a little different. Come in four sizes. XS,
S, M, and L. The Medium one is the "standard" size most folks will need. The XS is good for lightweight linene

SWSCUTARW Leg V Scuta Blanks
These BRUTALLY AUTHENTIC authentically
re-created scuta are 40” by 30” (curved sided). They come in rectangular and curved “Augustan”
they have a linen backing and heavy canvas front; ready to accept paint. Made of hardwood materials. The frame is 3/8 inches
thick and ¾ wide. All they need after this is paint, a rim and boss. Shipping weight is 6-7 pounds. After paint, rim and boss,
weight will be 9-10 pounds. Finished shield in the pictures shows what they can look like after completion. These
are shipped unfinished!! Very solid and each is hand made by Robert Wear of Legio V in Tennesee. Generally
instrock, though there may be a wait for leather covers.

SW032FF Hand Knit Focale Scarf
Hand "knit" in a single needle method by our own Lady Flavia. Available in natural,
tan, red, and the putrid green color seen in a piece of Roman art... Measures about 38" by 10". Essentially a wide scarf for
keeping the Lorica off your neck. We usually have the tan, red and grey ones in stock, occassionally others. Special
orders may take 2 weeks or so to get out. She can do two color ones as well ($10 extra). These are VERY nice. The natural
cotton thread breathes as well as absorbs sweat. Go ahead, wear scratchy wool around your neck! The boys of Legio VI are using
these!
