The Sixth Imperial Legion of Rome is a living history organization dedicated to recreating the life and times of Roman Legionary in the early 1st Century A.D. Legio VI was headquartered in Judea from 9 B.C. to 73 A.D. Prior to this they had served Julius Caesar in Gaul and Egypt.

The nickname "Ferrata" or "The Iron Legion" was awarded to the Legion in fighting in Gaul under Julius Caesar. The "Fidelas Constans" or "Loyal and Steady" was awarded in the mid to late 1st Century AD.

The Legion participates in school presentations, living history days, military timelines, encampments and immersion events, SCA Fairs, and occasional other events in South Carolina and the Southeast. We also plan and host our own events across the country including our annual event, Castra Romana, and the Pompeii Event in Mobile, Alabama.  Interested in hosting an event?  Email us at justuslonginus@aol.com.

We are always actively looking for new members! If you are interested, contact the Commander.  We ha members in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Virginia. Enthusiasm is the only requirement!  We are far more than just Roman soldiers!  We have civilians, artisans, gladiators, barbarians, and much more!  There is an impression for you!

Be sure to check out www.castraromana.com.  Our  own Roman Encampment here in South Carolina at Givhans Ferry State Park, in November!  The public is invited!  LEGIO VI also boasts its own armoury, at www.SouloftheWarrior.com to help members get properly outfitted.
